Last week I was delighted to be invited along to Russell IPM Ltd's event celebrating the company reaching their fundraising target for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. I was presented with a cheque for over £100,000!

Directors Diana and Shakir Al-Zaidi chose to support our charity after their grandson Callum was diagnosed with leukaemia. The company set a fundraising target of £100,000, and as part of this fundraising, every £1 raised has been matched by £1 from the company.

The Deeside based company held a variety of activities over the past four years with staff, family and the local community organising fun days, sponsored bike rides, cake sales, guess the baby’s weight and an ice skating marathon! Staff also generously donated from their salary to help us beat blood cancer.

Almost five years on, Callum is doing really well and the company have reached their fundraising target of £100,000 – an absolutely fantastic achievement!

Diana Al-Zaidi, Director said "I really am so thankful to all the local people that got involved and helped us to achieve our target, it wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s help. I would especially like to thank all the local businesses who raised so much, such as Ben Taylor from Huws Gray in Flint and Ben Foster from Deeside Leisure Centre, who donated so much of their time to our cause."

A huge thanks to Diana and Shakir, all the Russell IPM team, and the local community for their wonderful fundraising and support!
