Sainsbury’s Central Retail (SCR) decided to support Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research as their Charity of the Year in 2012/13.

We were delighted to work with SCR on a number of different events to raise money to help beat blood cancer. They started off their fundraising with a bang, raising a fantastic £32,000 from their Golf Day and Dinner. The day saw teams take part in a Stableford competition with team and individual winners, longest drive and closest to the pin. The evening held a raffle and brilliant auction which had everyone digging deep to raise this amazing amount.

They also challenged staff to a virtual bikeathon in their iconic London head office in Holborn, to see who could cycle the furthest.

Callum Mackay, Business Development manager for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, said “What a great start to the fundraising year – the team organising the golf day have done a fantastic job and the £32,000 raised is a brilliant testament to all their hard work. It is great to be working with SCR, they are extremely enthusiastic and have some great ideas. Over the next year everyone is really getting behind the cause and is determined to help us beat blood cancer.”
