My training has been going okay as I head into the week before my second Triathlon
Despite a damaged shoulder, tired legs and a packed diary enticing me out into many licensed premises over the last couple of weeks
A couple of days before the Triathlon I am waiting for my start time hoping for a mid morning one on Saturday, as it will take me at least an hour to get there and another hour to add to that to prepare etc. (that's what all the books tell you to do)
So imagine my surprise when I find that I start at 7am on Sunday morning. I am wearing vest number one, the first to go off.
I have no idea why I got my days mixed up and even less of an idea as to why a competition would want me to start. It is definitely not because I am going to set a time the others can attempt to beat. It is more likely that they believe if they start me early I will at least have plenty of daylight to complete it.
Before I sign off I just wanted to pay tribute to friends of my dad who are still collecting money to donate to Leukaemia Research. Friends who shared many years of good times whilst holidaying in Wales collected money, so a big thank you there.
I am also told that my uncle is in the process of collecting more money from colleagues at his former place of work.
It is great that such friends and colleagues remember my dad in such a generous way.
I think we all understand the importance of this fundraising for this cause.
I'll let you know how I get on this weekend. Looking forward to it, especially leaving in the middle of the night to get there on time!
