Whilst we love a good walk and some fresh air, the main reason we host our walking events is to raise as much money as possible for research into blood cancers.

The entry fees cover only the administration of the day so we’re relying on our teams of walkers to collect sponsorship from generous colleagues, the local community, friends and family.

When you sign up for one of our walks we’ll send you a fundraising pack, including a sponsor form, details of how to set up an online giving page and our fundraising guide.

Here are our top tips to walk your way to success:

Step One
Set yourself a fundraising target to give yourself something to aim for.

Next step
Get friends and family to sponsor you a set amount for each kilmometre you complete. Why not ask five friends to sponsor a kilometre each for £10?

Go the extra step
Why not organise your own event? Hold a dinner party and ask friends to make a donation for their meal, put on a bridge tournament or arrange a mini golf event at your local club.

Final step
Ask the company you work for if they will match the funds you raise.

Online fundraising

Whatever you do, one of the best ways of boosting your fundraising total is by setting up an online giving page. It's really easy to do.

If you want any more advice or fundraising materials then please do not hesitate to contact Madeleine Hudson on 0131 524 1322 or e-mail MHudson@beatingbloodcancers.org.uk and we will do our best to assist.

Good luck and remember that everything you raise really does help change people’s lives.
