I just wanted to tell you a little bit about Student Volunteer Week and how I'm planning on contributing to this fantastic new initiative.
Student Volunteer Week for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research will be 24th February and 2nd March. We are hoping to encourage as many students as possible to get involved with fundraising for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and hopefully raise some money and awareness on the quest to beat blood cancers. There are so many ways that students can fundraise, whether you want to do something simple if coursework is getting a bit hectic, or if you have more free time you can do a longer project... This could be anything from doing a sponsored activity, bag packing, or a come dine with me for your friends, to running a raffle, pub quiz or bake sale. The great thing about fundraising is that you can really make it your own, go as far as you like and have loads of fun while doing it!
So, in aid of all this, as a student myself, I am planning on dressing up to my lectures on Thursday 27th February as Elle Woods!! I sadly won't have the pink, scented CV or Bruiser the chihuahua but I will be wearing a (very itchy) blonde wig and some sort of outrageous pink outfit.. I'm hoping my lecturers won't think I'm completely barmy but it's all for a great cause and I hope I can count on your support!
Most importantly if you would like to donate to my fundraising please visit http://www.justgiving.com/Amy-RoseWarman - your donations make all the difference to those fighting blood cancer and their families. If anyone reading this is interested in doing their part please contact Emma Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her on 01214 158017 or get in touch with me by commenting on this post or e-mailing email@example.com - we would love to hear your ideas!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
