Following her appointment she said: “Cycling has always been a passion of mine. I’m delighted to become cycling ambassador for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research (LLR). The charity is leading the fight against blood cancer and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.

It was announced in HM The Queen’s New Year’s Honours list at the start of 2013, that Dani would receive an MBE, which she collected in April.

Her first participation for LLR was when she joined the Unstoppables team for the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100.

In September, Dani won two gold medals at the British Cycling National Club Championships. Her first gold came with the Wiggle Honda squad as they set a team pursuit world record and she also won gold with teammate Laura Trott in the women’s madison.

Dani’s success continued in November as part of the Great Britain women’s pursuit team that broke the world record and won gold at World Track Cup in Manchester.

The world record breaking continued for Dani and the GB team at her final event of 2013 in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

We all wish Dani another successful year in 2014!
