Summer is here, and we're on the road

After weeks of pouring rain and nasty wind, summer has finally arrived in our neck of the woods. Or, at least a first sweet taste of it. Bernie and I took advantage of the sunshine to start our training in earnest: inspired by Giro and Co, we clocked up 47km on Saturday and 51km on Sunday. In the bigger scheme of things it might not be a lot, but we feel epic.

More good news: we offically started fundraising last week! And, what a start it was: As soon as our initial email went out, we were flooded with messages of support and affection from literally all over the world. We were overwhelmed by the donations, care and love we received within the short span of couple of days. So, a huge, soppy thank you to everyone who has reached out to us - you have made a huge difference to the lives of my Dad and everyone else affected by blood cancer.

We'll keep on cycling!

51 kilometres is a long way from where I'm sitting! The furthest I've gone so far is 20 so good on you!!! The sunshine certainly makes an enormous difference and I can't wait to get out on the bike this weekend.

Well done on starting the fundraising - how much are you hoping to raise?

Hi Andy,
Thank you so much for your comment/s! They are such great encouragement. I've started to look forward to them as soon I as post a new blog.

We're aiming for £2000, and so far have managed to raise a fourth of it. Which is fantastic, really, considering that we've only been fundraising for three weeks. Still quite a bit to go, but fingers crossed we'll make it.
