Long term supporter Tony Caldwell continues to raise money in memory of his son, Simon

Long term supporter Tony Caldwell MBE has kindly been out and about again this year, raising money to beat blood cancer. Tony sadly lost his son Simon to leukaemia when he was just 5 and half years old and ever since, Tony has been tirelessly raising both money and awareness for blood cancer research.

Originally the Chair of the Redditch and Alcester Branch, Tony has been involved in the fundraising Branches of Coventry and Nuneaton, Rugby and Bromsgrove. He has organised a variety of fundraising activities over the years including coffee mornings, concerts and sponsored walks to name just a few! Personally, Tony has also run marathons, completed long distance challenge walks and trekked overseas. All of Tony’s efforts have helped to raise a magnificent half a million pounds!

Most recently, Tony and his singing group, Musyck Anon, performed in Stratford-Upon-Avon raising £350 from the generous passing public. The group performed near to the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre in Centenary Gardens, by the River Avon in September.

Tony has been organising the 'busks' in Stratford-Upon-Avon for the last 20 years and to date, has raised a fantastic £5,000 from these alone! As well as singing, Tony also has a passion for sharing the tales of his adventures in other countries, having travelled extensively across the world, including the Himalaya's.

By giving 'Travel Talks', Tony also fundraises for Bloodwise by speaking to local groups about the many places he has visited. You can read more about his adventures at www.tctravels.co.uk.

Our sincere thanks go out to Tony for his continued and invaluable support and also to all the members of Musyck Anon for singing every year to beat blood cancer.

Thank you!
