Total Lindsey Oil Refinery donate £3,800 for accident free shutdown period.

Lindsey Oil Refinery, part of the Total Group have supported our branch's commitment to help beat blood cancer by making a donation to support our push towards reaching the £100,000 milestone by 2017.

As part of the companies commitment to supporting charities, during the shutdown period Total Lindsey Oil Refinery donates to local worthwhile charities for each week that is achieved accident free. So far a total of seven charities have benefited which means that over half a million man hours have been worked in seven weeks without a serious accident.

It was Sean Ashton of Burton Upon Stather who works at Lindsey Oil Refinery that nominated our branch to receive the funds that we were fortunate enough to be selected to receive, resulting in a donation of £3,800 being made to our branch.

Hannah Dunkerley, Branch Secretary went to Lindsey Oil Refinery with Jo and Stuart Neal to receive a cheque from Martin McWilliam, Senior Safety Adviser.

We are very grateful to Lindsey Oil Refinery for choosing to support our branch. Their generous support ensures that we can continue our life-saving research into all blood cancers to help improve the lives of the 38,000 people of all ages diagnosed with blood cancer in the UK each year.
