Serious training run today, this entailed a 10 mile ride to Poppies Ice Cream Parlour, where it was obligatory to sample the products before our onward progress. Onwards then another mile, to invite more admiration of Rosie's new bike (and arrange details for Labrador Indie, to join our family (and her sister Poppy) for a week, whilst her own Welch Family disappear on an eagerly anticipated holiday in Dubrovnik. (Much more exciting than cycling in Normandy Norton!)
Back on the bikes again, and no getting away from the fact that whichever way we head for home, there are hills to accomplish.
Rosie complains, not for the first time, that there really is not enough saddle to her new bike, and padded shorts will definitely have to be purchased very soon. - I am feeling very smug that I settled for a pair of padded cycle shorts instead of a new bike - I know where my priorities lie!
Another nine miles (and a fairly long hill later) - which to be fair did involve a marvellously long descent as well - and we cruised home, taking the home slope in our stride.
