Training, training, raining

First week of serious training.

I've haven't done much fundraising before, the first charity ride i did was London to Brighton for BHF and that's what got me hooked on cycling. This week was the first week of "serious" training and as you may have guessed from the title it has been raining all week. Which has made the things so much fun, that coupled with the wind has put me in the mindset for a 100 mile ride in Autumn.

So, now that the mindset is right getting in shape is the next thing to do. I'm a regular cyclist, i don't like commuting (too much traffic) but i excercise to or three times a week and do about a 40 mile training ride on the weekends.

I have stepped this up for the ride in September and this week, i have been to the gym twice and cycled a total of 80 miles, albeit over three days. I am confident that i will be able to handle the climbs on the course as it seems to be fairly flat so it's really getting used to being in the saddle for upto 7 hours.
