After 13 years of phenomenal success, The Calendar Girls have announced their final fundraising event for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, Seasons of Love: A Gala Celebration of The Calendar Girls at the Royal Albert Hall on 7 October 2012.
The show will bring together, for the first and only time, special guests involved in The Calendar Girls’ extraordinary story including stars from the world renowned film and stage show.
Led by Ilkley born Alan Titchmarsh and scripted by Tim Firth, writer of The Calendar Girls film and stage show, the gala will be an emotional journey of exquisite music, shared memories, tears and lots of laughter. Supported by the City of London Philharmonic and the West End Chorus, a highlight will be Beth Neilsen Chapman performing the song written for the film “I Find Your Love”. Previously unseen footage of the Girls and Terry Logan’s original photography will be imaginatively projected in the world’s most prestigious venue.
Tickets are now on sale for this unique performance inspired by the memory of the husband of Miss February, Angela Baker, who tragically died of lymphoma. Angela Baker says: “This promises to be a wonderful evening – and I do hope you will all join us. Out of the tragedy of my husband John’s death has come something very special. Everything we do is born of love for him. We have met so many wonderful people – and raised over £3million for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research to help beat blood cancer.”
Cathy Gilman, Chief Executive of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, says: “The girls have inspired the nation and we would love their fans to join them for this unique occasion.”
