Our Unstoppable Fundraiser of the month for June is Chad Stather. He took part in the GE Blenheim Triathlon on the 10th June 2012.
The Blenheim Triathlon is an event that takes place every year in the fantastic grounds of Blenheim Palace. This triathlon involves swimming 750m through a cold lake, cycling 20k along an ‘undulating course’ and finally finishing off with a 5k run!
Chad chose to support us due to a personal connection to the charity and has recently experienced first-hand just how important that the research into blood cancers is. Chad’s wife has recently gone into remission and the outcome is far more positive than just 12 months back. He said “For the last year Lymphoma has become integral to our family life. Every day we pray and hope that the knowledge being gained and research underway will improve the understanding of this illness and provide better treatments. I cannot emphasise enough how important this work is.”
“I participated in the Blenheim Triathlon in order to raise money for this critically important charity. The event is being conducted primarily to promote and raise funds for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. As such please do dig deep and donate as generously as you can. It is crucial that we get many more patients included into clinical trials so that more can get the necessary treatments that they require.”
To date, Chad has raised over £15,000 with more sponsorship still coming in. To sponsor Chad please visit his fundraising page. Further information on the Blenheim Triathlon can be found on our event page.
