The London Marathon is THE event in the running calendar and this year's offering didn't disappoint with every single member of our 150 strong team doing us proud on a fantastic day for the charity.
Andrew Smith AKA 'Cactus man' broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest plant category by more than 40 minutes while marathon veteran Toby Close also deserves a shout out for being our fastest runner finishing in an incredible 2 hours and 54 minutes.
Our TV times celebrity team with actors Matt Kennard and Laura Aikman all teaming up with Jessica Ransom to help raise money for Chris Andrews who is currently undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Emmerdale star Tony Audenshaw was also in fine form and got in to the fancy dress spirit that makes the London Marathon so unique:
Every single one of our runners had their own remarkable story to tell and have already helped us raise £200,000 which will make such an enormous difference to the lives of blood cancer patients like Hodgkin lymphoma patient Josh Lerner whose brother Tom was also part of our team.
As a blood cancer survivor myself I'm only here because of the efforts of people like yesterday's runners and seeing them put themselves through the pain barrier to help people like me was an incredibly humbling experience and made me even more determined to do my bit ot beat blood cancer. A huge thank you, too, to the army of volunteers that came out to cheer the team on and ensure it was a huge success. Roll on 2016!
