Schools in Wales have been supporting LLR by fundraising for Mark & Richard's Desert Lifeline challenge.

Over the past few months, Mark Lewis Jones has been visiting schools in Wales to talk about the Marathon Des Sables challenge that he and Richard Harrington took part in April 2014.  Mark has been talking about the challenge itself, the training and now the fundraising following the event which needs just as much support as the MDS itself.

Recently he attended schools across Wales who'd been fundraising for the organisation and picked up funds totalling £4317.22.

We'd like to say a big thank you to the following schools for all their support:

Pontllanffraith Comprehensive - £1500 raised

Risca Comprehensive - £160 raised

Ysgol Morgan Llwyd, Wrecsam - £1000 raised

Blackwood Comprehensive - £1000 raised and special thanks to Rhiannon Williamson, Megan Anthony & Lauren Masterson for doing their own special collection seperately to the school.

Oakdale Comprehensive - £521 raised

All the schools organised their own activities over the past few months and some will continue to fundraiser when term restarts in September.

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting Mark & Richard in their endeavours - and everyone at LLR is incredibly grateful for everything that the students have achieved.

Phenomenal effort!

Well done to Mark and all the schools involved. I still can't quite believe he did the Marathon des Sables - doing one marathon is tough enough but six or seven back to back in the middle of the desert is on another level!
