It was only the other day that i purchased a road bike with the intention of cycling the 12 mile round trip to work and back each day, little did i know that a few days later i would have signed up to take part in the 2014 Birmingham Bikeathon.
A 52 mile bike ride in the space of one day. What exacly have i got myself in for?
I often set myself targets/challenges but always find a reason to either not complete them or start them at all, but this one is different. I am not doing this for myself, this is for a much greater cause that affects thousands of people each year.
Blood cancer is not something that has affected myself personally, but if a simple bike ride can help to raise awareness/money so that the families who it does affect stand a better chance of surviving then why wouldn't i take part?
Any donation, big or small is greatly appreciated not just by me but by anyone taking part in this fantastic event.
