Wickes have done it again – showing their passion and dedication to our partnership by getting well and truly stuck into their latest physical fundraising challenge – cycling around the world! They've blown us away with their determination to beat blood cancer. Since our partnership began in 2006, survival rates for blood cancer as a whole have risen from 52% to 60% – and survival rates for some blood cancers have risen by as much as 11%.
August Bank Holiday weekend saw employees from every Wickes store in the country on exercise bikes, peddling as fast and as far as they could to help beat blood cancer.
As you can see from the photos, stores put on all sorts of activities from bake sales to fancy dress to show customers what they’re doing and why.
Wickes Burgess Hill
We did our bit too - we fired through 52 miles on Friday to add to the Wickes total and had a jolly good time while we were at it.
Here's Royston with his brilliant 2.4 mile stretch
A big thank you to everyone who got involved, especially to Gym Box in Holborn for lending us their fancy bike for the day.
We're still counting up all the money raised and will update you as soon as we have the full figure - watch this space!
