The Winterton & District Branch was formed by Daniel Redhead in November 2011 following the death of a much loved friend, James Neal to leukaemia. Since James' death the Branch have raised an incredible £29,000 for Leukameia & Lymphoma Research and this group of inspirational young fundraisers continue to raise the profile of the charity and much needed funds in the North Lincolnshire area.
To celebrate the Branch's continued success and to encourage new supporters to join them the group held an awareness evening on 5th March 2013 at Cafe Saffre, Winterton. The evening was well attended and the Branch were thrilled to be able to celebrate the success of the fundraising team by awarding just a few of them with surprise Princess Diana Awards whilst reflecting on their success and looking forward to the future.
Daniel would like to thank the whole of the fundraising team for their commitment and support 'We do have other things in the pipeline for other members of our team too, and we would defiantly like to repeat the Diana Awards again in the future. At the event £91.40 was raised, with £22.40 half of the evenings takings from Cafe Saffre being donated. A huge thank you to everyone that supports our branch, and to Jan from Cafe Saffre and Calvin Taylor Lee from One Click Photography for sponsoring the event.'
On behalf of everyone involved with LLR I would like to say a huge thank you to Daniel and the Branch in Winterton for their drive and determination to beat blood cancer. We would also like to say a big 'well done' to those individuals that received Princess Diana Awards, we are truly grateful for your support.
