We are Lizzie and Joanne, two sisters and amateur cooks living in London who created a charity cookbook to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. WORLD WEDNESDAY the cookbook could make a great Christmas gift for your family and friends!
‘World Wednesday’ is quite simply an excuse for friends to get together and celebrate world food. It doesn’t matter whether you do this on a Monday, a Saturday, a Thursday or a Tuesday. But the name ‘World Wednesday’ was coined after we challenged ourselves and our friends to cook a meal every Wednesday from each of the 250 and more countries of the world. Before we knew it, we were cooking a meal from the different countries of the world every week, and people were fascinated by our World Wednesday experiences.
WORLD WEDNESDAY the cookbook is being sold to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research on behalf of our friend Dave Adamson, one of the World Wednesday creators. Dave was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2010 and started the first draft of the cookbook while in hospital for his treatment. Sadly Dave lost his fight with his leukaemia in June 2013. We are determined to keep on fundraising in his name. All proceeds from the sale of the cookbook go towards beating blood cancers and so far it has raised over £1,000.
WORLD WEDNESDAY the cookbook is available to buy as an e-book (£8.99), with books in softcover and hardcover from £19.99. Please visit the website to buy the cookbook, find out more and start your own World Wednesday challenge. Finding great new dishes as well as the unusual is what World Wednesday is all about. Follow the World Wednesday rules and you’ll find out for yourself!
