Online registration is now closed, but walkers can still register on the day. The walk will begin at 12.30pm and registration will open from 11.45am. The walk starts in the centre of the village in the Lindisfarne Mead car park, called St Aidan's Winery.
The popular Holy Island Forget Me Not Walk is a five-mile circular walk suitable for all ages. The walk takes in much of the island and landmarks along the way include the recently refurbished 16th-century Lindisfarne Castle, the harbour and the picturesque Holy Island village.
Nestled on the coast of North East England, Holy Island is undoubtably the jewel in the crown of Northumberland. Locally referred to by its Anglo-Saxon name of Lindisfarne, the island boasts a wealth of medieval religious heritage and more than its fair share of quiet beaches and unique natural history.
In AD365 Holy Island was one of the principle centres of Christianity and was later home to the famous St. Cuthbert. Miles of unspoilt countryside are a haven for nature-lovers alike.
So what better reason to put your best foot forward than taking in the spectacular sights and sounds of Holy Island?
Please note: Unfortunately the route is not suitable for buggies due to steps and kissing gates. Safe crossings for this event are 11.05am – 7.35pm.
