Scotland Balloon Walk
Join a Balloon Walk and be part of a community taking on events all around the country for one common goal: beating blood cancer.
The Scotland Balloon Walk was held on 15 April 2018. Many thanks to everyone who attended and fundraised for Bloodwise.
This three-mile tour of Callendar Park - through peaceful woodland and historic surroundings - forms a relaxing backdrop to the splendour of Callendar House, a fourteenth-century mansion which has played host to many great historical figures.
You’ll be given one of our coloured balloons to carry so you can proudly show your support – and you’ll have the chance to share experiences and memories along the way, before enjoying some well-deserved refreshments.
The route follows the traditional carriageways that were laid through the wood in the nineteenth century, passing the Victorian kennels, Henry's Hill and the Well, and offering glimpses of wildlife.
Follow in the footsteps of the soldiers who guarded the Antonine Wall – now a world heritage site, stroll around the loch and take the kids to the Castle Callendar play area.
After the walk, you can learn about the fascinating story of Callendar House from its exhibitions and learn all about life 'below stairs' in the working kitchen of 1825 – where an iconic scene of television series Outlander was filmed.
Please note that all balloons used on our balloon walk will be biodegradable, will not be filled with helium and will not be released after the event. All walkers have the option to walk with or without a balloon.
