In April 2016 we began a two year partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant to raise awareness of blood and platelet donation, and raise vital funds to help beat blood cancer. Staff at NHS B&T are hoping to raise £20,000 and have already raised funds in numerous ways including bake sales and ‘wearing red’ during Blood Cancer Awareness Month in September. We’re looking forward to working with NHS B&T over the partnership to make a real difference to the lives of people affected by blood cancer.

We have been nominated as the Charity of the Year for the National Poultry Awards 2017! We’re very excited to be a part of the evening, and working together to raise awareness and vital funds for blood cancer research.

TV Times

TV Times has shown extraordinary support for Bloodwise for several decades. They have been the sponsor of the Celebrity Running Team since it was established in 1982, when we were the first charity to put together a celebrity team, and their involvement with the Christmas concert at the Royal Albert Hall even predates the running team. TV Times, and owners TI Media, also put together teams for many different running and cycling events and continue to add to the hundreds of thousands of pounds they have raised over the years.

Publishing Director Angela O'Farrell said: "TV Times is proud to be associated with Bloodwise for over 34 years, specifically with our sponsorship of the Celebrity Running Team and the Christmas Carols with the Stars event. It is both humbling and inspiring to know that we have played some small part in contributing to a cure for all blood cancers in our lifetime".

The Dransfield team aim to cover a challenging route through Europe each year by bike with the aim to have finished in London by 2020. Setting off from London in 2007 to cycle the 200 miles to Paris, the team have since covered more than 3,500 miles and raised over £400,000 for various charities, including Bloodwise.

The team are already starting to plan this year’s tour which will be their eleventh leg, cycling 340 miles from Copenhagen to Oslo in September – and will once again continue supporting Bloodwise.

Mark Dransfield, Managing Director, said: “We've supported Bloodwise since the very first charity bike ride we did back in 2007; it's a fantastic charity supporting and funding highly specialised research and work which makes such a huge difference to blood cancer patients in our region. We will continue our support this year of the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) and we were extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity earlier this year to see the research work which we have helped to fund.”
