Eden Brown, specialist recruitment firm have just launched their new Charity of the Year partnership with Bloodwise in April 2019. We are thrilled to be working with the teams across the UK to raise significant funds to support Bloodwise.
The team at Eden Brown have already started to organise a number of events to support Bloodwise, including office fundraisers, Wear Red, Dragon Boat Races, 3 Peaks and Tough Mudders. Their Senior Leadership Team will also be taking part in a couple of challenges as well to promote our partnership. The enthusiastic Charity Champions have been working closely with the team at Bloodwise to support this exciting partnership and encourage some healthy inter-office rivalry. Eden Brown and all of the supporters from there are going to be at the heart of improving the lives of thousands of people affected by blood cancer.
For over 40 years, TV Times have done a phenomenal job supporting Bloodwise. Not only has their Celebrity Running Team taken on numerous marathons to raise millions for us, but they also help provide a star-studded line-up every year for our Christmas event at the Royal Albert Hall.
itsu are raising vital funds for Bloodwise by donating 10 pence from every delicious veggie dragon roll sold across their ninety UK stores, whilst also displaying our logo and information in order to tackle low awareness of blood cancer.
Dalcour Maclaren launched our year-long partnership in March 2019 with a ‘Wear Red for Bloodwise’ day. This June, 14 teams from across their UK offices are embracing their sporty sides to bravely tackle the Bloodwise Blenheim Triathlon as they aim to raise £25,000 throughout the year.
Since January 2018, staff from Michelmores’ London office have been doing a brilliant job raising close to £10,000 for blood cancer research, including hosting their very own fantastic ‘Funky Blues for Bloodwise’ evening.
Launched by philanthropist and Outlander star Sam Heughan in 2015, My Peak Challenge is a global programme that empowers its members to set and achieve a personal goal whilst raising money for charity. Through the dedication of ‘Peakers’, alongside unique fundraisers such as ‘Win a Date with Sam’, My Peak Challenge has raised over $2 million for Bloodwise – enough to fully fund a hugely promising clinical trial at the University of Oxford.
Light the Night
Working in collaboration with the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society, Bloodwise has run the Light the Night campaign since 2013. Working with teams from companies across The City and Canary Wharf including Barclays, Santander, Morgan Stanley and Salesforce, this amazing campaign, which features our annual Dragon Boat Race, has raised more £1.14million.
Hook Norton Brewery
Since 1994, Bloodwise has been the principal charity of the Hook Norton Brewery’s annual Festival of Fine Ales. Combined with Managing Director James Clarke’s individual and family fundraising efforts, the Brewery has raised in excess of £300,000– an amount certainly worth raising a glass to!
Past corporate partners
When Wickes elected Bloodwise as its first charity partner in 2006, no-one could have foreseen that over the next 10 years, hundreds of employees would ‘hop up Kilimanjaro’, one Director would spend 34 hours suspended in a glass box, and a whole new range of red products would have been released. The result? An incredible £5 million raised for beating blood cancer.
From mass head shaves to marathons, Clinical Professionals have proven themselves to be natural fundraisers since the beginning of our partnership in January 2018, smashing their £5,000 target for the year.
NHS Blood and Transplant
Since 2016, NHS Blood and Transplant have run, cycled, swam, walked and baked their way to raise a brilliant £60,000 for vital blood cancer research.
Through initiatives such as ‘Kids Eat Free’ in return for a donation to Bloodwise and a national pizza designing competition, Frankie & Benny’s raised an amazing £275,000 to beat childhood blood cancer across the first six months of 2014.
Throughout 2016-7, the North Thames Barratt Homes office cycled 100km between their housing development sites, organised a golf day and much more to raise over £30,000.
In 2005 following a staff vote, Deloitte entered into a two-year partnership with Bloodwise and The British Heart Foundation, aiming to raise £1 million. The partnership was a huge success, and for the first time ever, Deloitte extended it for a further year raising £2.02 million in total!
Across a two-year partnership, Royal London raised an amazing £220,000 – more than double their original target - through a series of innovative fundraising schemes. These included donating £5 for every new policy taken out following a brilliant awareness-raising campaign and a photobombing competition featuring Royal London’s very own mascot, Gilbert the Pelican.
From 2011-2012, M&S ran their powerful ‘Put Childhood Leukaemia to Bed’ campaign in support of Bloodwise. This featured everything from selling exclusive Bloodwise Tatty Teddy bears, to running an advertising campaign featuring children in remission from blood cancer, to donating 10% of sales of all kids’ nightwear to Bloodwise.
Within a year of beginning our partnership in July 2007, Argos had raised £900,000 for Bloodwise, more than doubling their original target of £400,000!
Royal Garden Hotel
The Royal Garden Hotel helped Bloodwise mark our 50th anniversary by raising £8,000 through initiatives such as a £1 donations from every hotel bill and afternoon tea sold.
Throughout 2011 – 2013, employees at UK office of Hogan Lovells cycled from London to Paris, danced at their very own Legally Ballroom and hosted a mass Spinathon, all in aid of raising £90,000 for Bloodwise.
Independent Clinical Services
Independent Clinical Services chose Bloodwise as their Charity of the Year in 2012-13. A fantastic year of fundraising culminated in a spectacular ‘Jailbreak’ - senior managers were dropped off in unknown locations and had to charm their way back to ICS offices without spending any money, bringing their fundraising total to £24,000.
