Our strategic planFind out how we aim to achieve even more for patients by 2017.
We’re living in a time where beating blood cancer is becoming a reality. It’s a golden time to accelerate the progress we’ve been making for people affected by blood cancer. To grasp the opportunities in front of us we need a clear plan to guide us, so we identified five key goals.
Goal 1: Deliver what people affected by blood cancer need
There are many ways we can save and improve the lives of patients in the short, medium and long term. This goal makes sure that we continue to prioritise and to make robust decisions based on evidence.
Goal 2: Raise more money and more resource
While goal 1 will help us to be even more effective with the money we spend, this goal will enable us, quite simply, to do even more. We know that if we could double our income, there are research opportunities and patient activities that would accelerate our progress yet further.
Goal 3: Work in partnership
Over the years, as we’ve gained an unparalleled knowledge of blood cancers and improved our understanding of the needs of patients, we’ve also recognised the important role that we can play as a voice of authority and influence. This means that we’re well placed to help facilitate collaborations and bring resource to our mission that may not be recognised as income, but is vital to accelerate progress.
Goal 4: Improve our reach, reputation and brand
Our success depends upon people knowing about us and having trust and confidence in what we stand for and achieve as an organisation. It’s therefore vitally important that we reach many audiences, including patients, carers, health professionals and the public, if we’re to do all that we can to achieve our vision.
Goal 5: Strengthen our organisation
We employ over 100 people and it’s important that we appropriately invest in our employment policies, our learning and development, our working environment, the way we work and our governance to ensure that we have a team who enjoy living their working life fully and to the very best of their ability.
