An inspirational family from Denby, Derbyshire organised a fantastic event called the 24 hour Derbyshire Relay Walk at the end of July. When Graham Middleton was diagnosed with cancer, his whole family was floored by the news.

BPI Recycled products in Heanor Derbyshire organised a a sports day and fete on their companies forecourt in July to help beat blood cancer. They raised an amazing £386 but the company have matched it to make £750 and I attended the cheque presentation with the team.

On the 11th July at Debdale Park Sports Club in Mansfield Woodhouse the 17 players of Sherwood Colliery Cricket Club took on the 15 players of the Old Sherwoodonians (former players) in memory of Ian Bagshaw.

The 8 Mile Dambuster Walk took place on 17th May around Ladybower Reservoir, Derbyshire. Mrs Sissons an 82 year old lady from Bolsover, Derbyshire, completed the walk and raised £213 towards the total.
