Day 19 - Late start today at 10am due to enormous breakfast at B and B. Picked up the Rhine way route again at Rhenen. To our surprise the route led us into a forest section that was hilly (who said Holland was flat) and hard going. Eventually headed on to Amerongen where we met a professional cycle race, however luckily they were heading in the other direction so it meant they were not shown up by us. From here we enjoyed easier cycling up on the dyke top but were joined by club cyclists, motorbikes, classic cars, vintage tractors, as well as members of the community walking and cycling. Reached Wijk bij Duurstede to ride through a windmill (the worlds only drive through type). Continued on to Vreeswijk a historical town in canal building dating from 1373 where we had lunch. Fast section back on dyke to Schoonhaven where we caught the ferry to Gelkes to pass four thatched windmills to reach our B and B at Molesaarsgraff. 63 miles in sunny weather.
