Rich joins us to share his experiences and answer your questions about acute promyelocytic leukaemia in our latest Facebook Live Q&A

On Friday 17th March Bloodwise Ambassador Rich Castle joins us to share his experiences and answer your questions about blood cancer in our latest live patient Q&A on Facebook from 3 pm.

Rich was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukaemia in May 2008 after his GP sent him for some urgent blood tests on account of some unexplained bruising and soft tissue bleeding from his gums.

Treatment began almost straight away and following high dose chemo and three further visits to hospital for consolidation treatment Rich was placed on maintenance treatment for a further two years during which time he also went back to work. Sadly Rich relapsed in September 2009 and had to undergo further chemo and radiotherapy before a life-saving transplant courtesy of his brother Gary.

Rich has been in remission ever since and has gone on to do some remarkable things for the charity riding both in his role as an Ambassador - not least in his patient representative role in the AML research working group - and as a fundraiser cycling from London to Paris last year as part of our Unstoppable Bloodwise team.

If you have a question that you'd like to ask Rich ahead of the Q&A please email us at You can read more about Rich's experiences here:
