My "training" for the London Bikeathon:- I'm swimming two or three times a week, a mile each time.  I cycle to the pool and back and I walk to and from work every day (which is approximately a mile each way).  I'm quite a healthy eatier anyway - and don't drink alcohol at all -  but a week or so before the ride I'll maybe eat a little more pasta.  Hope the weather is dry on the day, but not too hot :)
