Jonathan Bradley, from Ovingham, Northumberland has been raising money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research ever since his daughter Jenna was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in August 2011, aged just three.
Jonathan latest fundraising will see him cycle around 70 miles from Carlisle to Newcastle on 26-27 April, in a bid to raise £2,500 to help beat blood cancers.
“I chose Carlisle as our starting point for the cycle ride because there are many people that travel from Carlisle to the same hospital where Jenna is being treated in Newcastle to receive treatment. It's a long way - particularly if you have to do it frequently.”
Jonathan will be joined by good friend and ex-Olympic cycling champion, Yvonne McGregor MBE. He adds: “I’m absolutely delighted that Yvonne’s agreed to join me on the cycle. She was a medal winner in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and world championship title holder, so I’m in great company. She could easily do the entire journey there and back in day - we're doing it in two days to try and lessen the stress on my back!”
