Bravo to Nanny Lea and Elmer The Patchwork Elephant for providing such a delightful story telling session, at the Old Hall, on the hottest day of the year!!  With real skill Nanny Lea soon had her audience, both young and not so young, hanging on her every word and David McKee’s wonderful stories gave her plenty of scope to try out her wide range of voices to great affect. There were squeals of delight when the endearing Elmer made his surprise entrance and Elmer and his minder, both members of Llantwit Major Stage Door, proved to be a big hit with the enthralled youngsters.

Staged by the Cowbridge Book Festival the event was part of the Cowbridge Community College Open Day and throughout the day visitors had the chance to participate in many play and craft related activities that were organised by tutors of the college. They also had the opportunity to pick up a College Prospectus highlighting the many courses that are pursued at the college throughout the year.

For all those families who “braved” the heat wave they were treated to an entertaining day out and thoroughly enjoyed getting involved!
