The Edinburgh Marathon Festival is happening on Saturday 30 & Sunday 31 May and incorporates various distances from junior races, 5k, 10k and right up to the marathon for those that want a big challenge. At the end of May we have 70 unstoppable runners who will be donning their trainers and running through the magnificent city of Edinburgh and gorgeous views of East Lothian to help us raise vital funds to beat blood cancers.

One of our unstoppable runners Rachel is running the half marathon. Rachel was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) when she was 17 in October 2012. During her treatment, it was spent months in isolation and to deal with this, Rachel wrote a blog which you can read here.

Amazingly Rachel achieved remission in November 2012 and was released from hospital  in March 2013. Rachel says, "I have chosen the charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma research as I know too many young people who have suffered from the disease and lost their lives because of it."

I want to wish all our unstoppable runners good luck!  The money you raise is making a huge contribution on our journey to beat blood cancer. Together we’re unstoppable. If you want to join me to cheer on our amazing runners, then please get in touch here.

If you’ve been inspired by Rachel’s story then join us and sign up for the Loch Ness Marathon here; you may even catch a glimpse of Nessie!

We’re delighted that for the second year running we have charity places available at the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, where you will soak up the atmospheric location and breath-taking scenery as you run through the stunning countryside surrounding Loch Ness. We have an entry fee of £45 and ask runners to pledge to raise £400 sponsorship.

Our unstoppable runner Megan has already signed up! Megan says; "Being diagnosed with (and subsequently cured of) acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) at the age of three has meant Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research has always been a charity that is special to me." I have never really got round to doing my own fundraising challenge for the charity, so decided at the aged 22, it was about time to change this. I've always wanted to run a marathon so decided to sign up for one this year. I'm running the Loch Ness Marathon on the 27th of September this year with the Unstoppable Team and can't wait!” So what are you waiting for? Join Megan at the Loch Ness marathon and help raise vital funds to beat blood cancer. Sign up here.
