In pursuit of raising some funds towards our target of £10,000, we held our first event, a 6 mile walk (which turned out to be closer to 8 miles due to a minor calculation error and lots of enthusiasm) through the Chiltern Hills, on Sunday 26th May.
Altogether 26 people took part in the walk, which started at Remenham Church near Henley-on-Thames. The walk followed the path of the River Thames, before crossing the weir at Hambledon, and heading up into the Chiltern Hills. The route then wound its way down into Henley-on-Thames, conveniently passing the Angel on the Bridge pub, and then back along the River Thames to the cars. The weather, somewhat surprisingly, was perfect on the day and nobody got lost!
All in all, the walk was a great success with over £1,050 raised for the charity. This is a fantastic result and our thanks go to everyone who took part and/or sponsored us!
