Sunday 21 September saw the 34th and final Gwent Vintage & Specialist Car Rally at Tredegar House. The event has been a labour of love for committed branch members Mandy and Bruce Womack.
The Womack’s motivation to fund research and make patients’ lives better comes from a place of sadness and loss. Yet, despite losing a child to leukaemia Mandy and Bruce have dedicated their lives to helping fight this disease. Their story may not be new but it goes to show just how special our supporters are. Like the Eastwoods and so many other families the Womacks have chosen to turn this awful experience into life changing positive action. Our charity is built on the foundations of such profound, and often moving heritage.
It is fitting that the sun shone on the day of the final car rally. It is also fitting that the event raised a phenomenal £81,000.00. With an unprecedented number of exhibitors and visitors Mandy and Bruce should be proud of their efforts. The final rally is a crowning jewel in a long line of admirable charitable work.
Whilst the rally may have come to an end, Mandy and Bruce will continue to raise funds and do what they can to beat blood cancer. We are so very proud and privileged to have people like the Womacks on our side. Despite unfathomable loss they have shone a light in the dark and brought hope to the lives of many. On behalf of all the lives you have changed, thank you.
