Helen set up the North Northumberland Fundraising Group in 2009 following being treated successfully for leukaemia. One of the most popular fundraising activities the group organise is a Forget Me Not Walk on Holy Island.

The iconic Walk, with stunning views of Lindisfarne Castle, last took place  on 7th October 2012 and raised over £2010.

Helen says: "I was overwhelmed by the generosity and support of people in the village. The sight of so many people walking in the blue t-shirts was very moving. I'm looking forward to organising the next walk."

Helen and the group also hold a wide range of other events including a Bikeathon, pub quiz, disco, coffee morning, BBQ sports evening, shopping evening and carol concert.
