Well what a day! We'd like to say thanks for everyone's support and how proud we are to have been able to do our bit for the cause.
Broad street was closed to traffic for the event and we all had a send off from the Lord Mayor, who wasn't in Lycra and I thought "those gold chains'll slow him up on the hillclimb...". The organisers did a great job signing the route which led us through some beautiful countryside, with welcome sustenence along the way. However, the timed hillclimb course was a bit bizarre as it involved crossing the A44 at Fish Hill 300 yards before the finish line! Thankfully nobody came to grief on that one. One great motivator was seeing small groups along the way, some camped at pubs for the day to applaud 'Dad' or 'Sarah' at the appropriate time but also others who were cheering us all on. The Finish line in Broad Street was equally impressive, with so many supporters and a surprise cheer from the crowds queueing to see the Peaky Blinders Premiere. After all that it was just a slow ride home to play 'Hunt The Radox'.
Thank You, Mark and Lynda
There is more money to come in from sponsorship forms so we should hit our target.
