For the past three and a half months, Find a Property has had us transfixed on its Rap for a Cause leaderboard. With £10,000 awarded to the winning entry and the potential careers of our aspiring rappers to think of, we set about collecting votes to help beat blood cancer. And collect them we did.

The Sutheren’s & Co rap to beat blood cancer was lead by the incredible Lucas Sutheren, a leukaemia patient who is halfway through his 3 year course of treatment. The competition closed on Thursday 31 May and whilst Lucas and friends managed an extremely impressive 1867 votes to help beat blood cancer, it was not enough to topple Charlie Chyps and Divvy Dad with an enormous 6981 votes. You can see the full leaderboard here.

The story behind the winning rap is that the seven-year-old boy in the video lost his younger brother, Oscar, to a rare form of cancer. Chyps Hospice looked after Oscar for over a year. We're sure you’ll agree it’s an extremely moving story, making them very deserving winners.

But all is not lost for the Sutheren’s & Co. Thanks to your enthusiasm in voting and spreading the word, Lucas achieved one of 4 runner up spots and has won a Kindle! This is really fantastic because it means he can take it along to treatment sessions at the hospital to keep himself amused, lift his spirits and just make the visits that little bit easier.

Lucas and his mum, Jill, were thrilled when we told them the good news last week so we'd like to say a big thanks to Find a Property for running the competition and their support for UK-wide charities.

Finally and most importantly, thank you for getting behind this as much as you did and showing your support for Lucas. You’ve made an amazing boy very happy indeed.
