Supporter Katie Airey has taken her fundraising to new heights by holding a Bokwa class at 1203ft.

In 2005, at aged 24 Katie was given the devastating news that she had Hodgkin Lymphoma. Katie immediately started receiving intensive treatment including Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy and was told the treatment would probably leave her infertile. It was 1 year later before Katie was given the news that she was in remission and in 2008 Katie gave birth to a healthy baby girl Claudia.

On Sunday 26th April, Katie led a Bokwa class (aerobic exercise based on South African Dance) on top of the summit of Latrigg, Keswick for 90 people.  Katie hoped this would inspire people to get fit along with supporting a charity which is so close to her heart and she has certainly succeeded. An amazing £1100 was raised which is over half way to her £2,000 target for the end of 2015.

Katie, 34, who lives in Keswick with her husband Graham, said: "This year marks 10 years since my diagnosis and I have decided to hold a year of fundraising starting with this event. I feel that it's my way of giving back."

Katie already has plans for her next fundraising venture ……….watch this space!
