This year we had a lot of changes with the Little Talent Contest in its fourth year, the most obvious being the two schools running the audition and semi-final stages of the contest independently, but this was no deterant for another successful year of showcasing the primary talent in the area. Between Burton Primary School and Winterton Junior School they raised just short of £200 for our branch in the early stages of the contest with each school providing five acts to perform in our Grand Final.
Our vision for this years Grand Final was to host the best final yet by providing the children partaking with the best experience yet and by hosting the highest quality professional show to date, which is something I feel that we successfully achieved. We achieved this by holding a rehearsal afternoon which enabled the children from different schools to get to know each other before the show as well as spending some time practicing their acts and experiencing the rather large stage before the show in our biggest and most facilitated venue yet. With the support of two hugly talented entertainment acts, a phenomenal judging panel and an ever captivating special guest it was a show to be remembered!
Talents that made it through to this years final included singers, dancers and musicians providing a show with variety and uplifiting entertainment to beat blood cancers. From entrance fees, raffle and refreshments we are thrilled to have raised £575.27 and an overall total of £774.67 with all the stages for this years Little Talent Contest. We would like to give thanks to everyone that made the evening possible which includes: Winterton Junior School, Burton Primary School, Winterton Community Academy for the use of their facilities, our Judges: Don Johnson, Judy King, Tracy Norton and Julie Davey, our special guest Francesca Marritt Mayor of Winterton, the Butchers Arms Winterton for sponsoring the event, Directions and Rob Wilson for performing, all of the acts that entered the contest, and of course to our fantastic fundraising team who again worked incredibly hard to host the event and make it happen!
