Longridge Young Farmers choose LLR as charity for 2014 Fundraising

27 Feb 2015

A huge thank you for the amazing £900 raised!

We were invited to the Longridge Young Farmers meeting on Monday the 23rd of Febuary to give a talk and recieve a cheque on behalf of LLR. It was great to meet them and have the opportunity to talk about the work we do, there were some really good questions too.

They raised the money in a variety of ways including a Muck haul around the local area selling it, a Bag pack at Longridge Booths and various activities at Longridge show including the Dunking Stool & Guess where the Chicken decided to do it's business on a strip of cardboard!

It's great to see young people playing such an active part in raising money that makes such a huge diference to peoples lives and helps get us closer to our goal of Beating Blood Cancer!

Thanks so much for sharing this, Steven. As you say it's fantastic to see so many young people getting involved in fundraising to help us beat blood cancer and as a survivor myself I cannot thank them enough for everything they're doing. I love the idea of 'Guess the chicken' - how did that work?

Hi Andy, Yes it's brilliant to see. I was told the cardboard is divided into numbered sections and people buy a number to guess the spot!
