After months of declining health I was finally diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma stage 2b in February 2012. This blog is about my experiences from that point on.

After months of declining health I was finally diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma stage 2b in February 2012. At this stage I had a two very young children and was busy working in the family beads & jewellery findings business, and had just developed a range of children's jewellery making kits called Pippin Kits.

My treatment began with reassurance it would be a hard year but all would be fine. After two cycles of ABVD I was transferred onto BEACOPP. Four cycles later I was nearly clear and a final treatment and then autograft were planned. The next treatment didn't go as planned, I then underwent two cycles of mini BEAM which worked great and I was ready for stem cell. My brother matched so we decided to opt for an allograft, I am presently awaiting this final treatment.

During this time I have kept developing the Pippin Kits, and we have now over 30 kits and have just launched a new website where 10% of the sales of one product the Hearts Friendship Bracelet kit is being donated to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. During my time waiting for transplant we decided to have a fundraising evening for my 35th birthday at our favourite restaurant, with lots of very generous friends and family we raised £1,500 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Our next fundraising to take place will be through the family business, with the chance to win Amethyst geodes, a chest full of beads and lots of other plans for bake sales etc. In the meantime Pippin Kits can be bought from pippinkits.com.
