The nerves kick in

With just three weekends til the actual ride it’s all getting a bit nervy in my world.

Whilst the training has gone well it’s the going into the unknown that is the worry. So with that in mind I upped my weights Saturday morning at the gym and pushed hard for results. Sunday morning and we were out at 8:15am for a ride which sounds fine but when you need to eat at least an hour before it makes it an early rise on a Sunday morning that I could do without! The team Sunday was hard core, lots of experienced riders all looking to set a pace Chris Boardman would be proud of, oh and me! Well to say the weekends ride was hard would be an understatement and at 65miles long not for the faint hearted. We did however get a stop after 40 miles at a lovely independent coffee shop in Pershore and I was so knackered at that point I begged the staff to give me a job washing dishes, anything to avoid getting back on the bike with superman and his mates! To no avail I’m afraid, they didn’t need a dishwasher so off we went for the final 25miles. All in all a decent run and I am sure somewhere it did me good. “All about saddle time” they say to me. Well I’m pretty much acquainted with my saddle now let me tell you. So another week down, let’s see what this weekend brings.

Good luck Danny! Not long to go now...

Well done on getting the 65 mile run under your belt - I guess it's now time to start tapering ahead of the big send off!

What you're doing is amazing and I'm only here thanks to people like you - keep up the good work!

Fantastic blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers? I'm planning to start my own site soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I'm completely overwhelmed .. Any tips? Thanks!
