Having lost Steve to leukaemia in 2004 we strive to raise money for Bloodwise in his memory as he is never far from our thoughts.

Bloodwise now have a new way of raising money in memory of loved ones. I have had a fund set up in memory of my Husband Steve with Bloodwise (formerly Leukaemia Research) as a forget-me-not fund since May 2004.

There is now the option of setting up a Tribute fund with Bloodwise in partnership with JustGiving. I am loving the new idea and have set up www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Emma-Cornish2. This is a lovely way of keeping tabs on funds raised in memory of a loved one and it is now so much easier to share with those you have connections with through Facebook or Twitter or as a link to an email address. You can also update your page with new fundraising events as they happen, with photographs and updates and it will serve as a lovely blog to remind you of the efforts you have put into remembering the person you have lost.

We lost Steve after a 21 month battle with acute myeloid leukaemia in May 2004. He had had two bone marrow transplants and had successfully got into remission through a drug trial. However very sadly he lost his fight. In order for others to win their battles, drug trails and research is really needed. It helps to improve the provision of care and hopefully one day it might cure blood cancers. Raising money for Bloodwise makes this research possible.

Fundraising in someone's memory is enormously satisfying and incredibly worthwhile!
