We want to change the world by beating blood cancers. However, we can also do this by making good things happen - little good things - like, wee, funsize good things. It all adds up. That’s part of who we are as Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and our brand new digital product - Pledgeit - is a platform for making funsize good things happen.
What I am most excited about is the incredible range of challenges I think we’ll see appear on the site over the coming weeks. Even internally we’ve seen challenges emerging that set completely different goals: from people needing to fly to Berlin to sing (badly) in front of thousands of people (that’ll be me) to others being challenged to complete a cross stitch that’s sat lonely and unfinished for years.
Pledgeit is a product of our drive to innovate and do things differently. We need to reach as wide an audience as possible, and we will hopefully achieve that by providing a new platform to encourage people to do things. It has taken us just six months since the idea first came up to make it a reality, which is quite an achievement.
And... this is only the beginning for Pledgeit. It is going to evolve, and hopefully evolve quickly, helped by the feedback from people using it. We want to hear from as many of you as possible about what you think is good, what would make it better, what would help you use it to raise even more money. We have some great ideas about how we can push Pledgeit forward as a platform, perhaps internationally, perhaps as a platform for other charities - there are lots of possibilities.
We are an organisation dedicated to beating blood cancers, step by step, through big and small changes. Pledgeit is one small step towards that goal.
