Sam is a Scottish actor, star of star of hit period drama 'Outlander' and a huge Hollywood hit. He’s been fundraising to beat blood cancer since 2011 when he joined our TV Times running team. Sam has run many half and full marathons for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, and he also completed his first triathlon in 2013 at Blenheim Palace. Sam’s recently organised the My Peak Challenge, to encourage anyone to tackle their own personal goal – and help beat blood cancer at the same time.
Sam says: “We have to battle cancer. Many of my close family and friends have fought their own cancer battle. We need to support their cause in any way we can. Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research are doing this through research, patient information and clinical trials. They are a caring, diligent charity which I am proud to be part of: let's beat blood cancer.”
On behalf of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, thank you so much to all of Heughan’s Heughligans and everyone taking part in My Peak Challenge, for your ongoing support and fundraising. The camaraderie and team spirit of the Heughligan community is truly inspiring, and is taking us that bit closer to beating blood cancer. Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is proud to be so closely linked with Sam, but due to the high volume of requests we receive, unfortunately we are not able to pass individual requests on to Sam himself. However, if you’d like more information on how we can support you with your fundraising please email us.
