Join us and our Nottingham Branch on the 11th October for our first ever Sherwood Pines Bikeathon!

Sherwood Pines is the largest forest open to the public in the East Midlands with over 3,300 acres to discover. Its cycle trails are very popular and include some of the best off-road cycling in the UK.

Children and adults are invited to take on as many laps of the three or six mile courses as they chose, all to raise money to beat blood cancers.

The 3 mile course (40 mins) follows the Family Cycle Trail and provides a great introduction to the forest, combining both quiet forest roads with off-road trails and taking in a variety of habitats and views. This loop is suitable for beginners in good health with basic bike skills, and most types of bike can be used as the trail is relatively flat and wide.

The six mile ‘Adventure Trail’ loop (1.5 hours) starts and finishes on the Family Cycle Trail but provides the chance to experience off-road trails. It's unsurfaced and may be rough and uneven. This route is suitable for riders in good-health with basic off-road riding skills and for mountain bikes only. It also includes some 'single-track' sections and small obstacles of root and rock.

For more information on the trails and a map please click here.

Entry is £15 for Adults, £10 for under 12’s and £35 for families (2 adults and 2 children). Entrants are welcome to enjoy the park after their ride and a well-earned hot lunch will be provided for their efforts in the saddle.

Entries are now open for the Sherwood Pines Bikeathon, which starts at 10am on Sunday 11 October near Edwinstowe. To sign up please click here.

So come along for an outdoor adventure and help raise money to beat blood cancers!
