So, thanks to big old Hurricane Bertha, RideLondon was cut down to a more manageable, if also more depressingly wet, 86 miles. Even with the ride to the start and back to the car park at the end, I topped out at 96 and was too soggy to bother riding round the block to break three figures. On the upside, it means that the hundred barrier is still waiting to be smashed, and the Birmingham Bikeathon is the logical place to go for my first century.

I raised over £600 for Cancer Research UK at RideLondon which was pretty aweseome. I certainly don't expect all those same people to donate again so soon, but hey, if you never quite got around to donating and really did mean to - now's your chance! I just hope that I get to achieve that century - my primary goal for the year - in conditions entirely unlike those which greeted us in Richmond Park. I'd like sunshine, a bit of light cloud cover and a maximum of 4-5mph winds, please.
