Well the training has offically started and it hasnt been without issues!
I have completed just over half the bikeathons distance so far, but that is over a week and not in one go! (and if I stop at pubs as much as I have done thus far, I will be far too drunk after only a quater of the distance!!!)
I must take the opportuinity to say thanks to my uncle, Brian, for donating me his old mountain bike, without which I would really struggle to comeplete the bikeathon! So thank you Brian! (for taking away my excuse for not doing the bikeathon!) It went on a trip to Evans Cycles in Guildford, (I wouldnt recommend them again though!) and is not working hard carrying the enormous weight of me around the countryside of Farnham. I never really realised until I started cycling, the true meaning of the phrase "Surrey Hills." Needless to say on every training route I complete there is a large hill to climb on the way back.
There has already been one accident, entailing a cut and bruised knee with a bruised elbow, and more importantly ego to go with it.
Now please remember to dig deep if you haven't already done so and donate to help us all beat blood cancer!
