In case you haven't heard, lycra is the new black.
Following a ridiculously successful 2012, cycling is more popular than ever in the UK so we're giving you the chance to join the peloton party from your comfortable sofa rather than a skinny saddle.
With the help of our friends at Road.cc, we are launching the LLR Unstoppable Fantasy Cycling League for 2013.
So if you reckon you know your Cavendish from your Kittel, your Team Sky from your Saxo Tinkoff, or if you just want to learn a bit more about the sport, here’s your chance. Go head to head against other LLR supporters and staff, there’s even a novice Head Office team to embarrass with your skills.
Here is your opportunity to unleash your inner Brailsford. Select a team of nine riders to compete for you in various races throughout the season. These riders score points based on how well they do, which contributes to your team’s standing within the Unstoppables League. You can swap riders in and out of the team throughout the year in pursuit of the ultimate glory of being crowned 2013 LLR Champion. Thanks to the very fashionable guys at Velolove we have fantastic prizes for the winners of the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana to wear as you bask in the respect and admiration of your friends and family.
To enter your team follow these easy steps:
- Register an account with road.cc.
- Pick a team of nine riders.
- Join the Unstoppables League (76193).
It’s as simple as that.
Your riders will pay you back by finishing in the top 20 in a stage or one-day race. They will also score points for wearing the leader’s jerseys, being in a breakaway, climbing or sprinting well within a stage, being in the same team as the stage winner and don’t worry, you’ll also benefit if your rider finishes last.
The full rules and conditions can be found on the road.cc site.
So get yourself over to road.cc and pick nine brave sprinters, climbers and domestiques to represent you. The first Tour of the season begins on 22nd January, make sure your team is registered and ready!
