Support Services Team Leader

The Support Services Team Leader will be line-managing a small team of Support Service Officers to ensure that we are consistently providing high quality information and support. They will promote our services internally and externally to ensure we are maximising our potential to reach more people affected by blood cancer across our different services.

The primary objective of the role will be to inform people about blood cancer, answering any queries that come through to us via our different platform as well as providing practical and emotional support to everyone who uses our services. Impeccable written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role. An understanding of blood cancer and blood cancer patient care would be beneficial.

This role also involves working with volunteers to oversee and moderate our online community forum on a day to day basis, bringing together a supportive network of people affected by blood cancer who can share stories and support each other. Keeping this community safe is important here, so an understanding of online safety practices is key.

This exciting role provides the front line of our Blood Cancer Support Service, putting people affected by blood cancer at the heart of everything we do and tailoring our work to better meet their needs. For this reason, the Support Services Team Leader will need to be emotionally resilient, hardworking and understand the value that the role brings to the blood cancer community.

Ideally, you will be Registered Nurse in haematology with experience working at NHS Band 6 or above (or equivalent).
