Beacon Hill Balloon Walk
Join a Balloon Walk and be part of a community taking on events all around the country for one common goal: beating blood cancer.
The Beacon Hill Balloon Walk took place on 18 March 2018. Many thanks to everyone who attended and fundraised for Bloodwise.
The three-mile route starts in Beacon Hill Country Park, filled with wood carvings and geology that dates back to 600 million years ago, made of volcanic ash and beautiful woodland.
The walk meanders up to the top of the beacon with stunning views of several counties. We then walk down through farmland over to the quaint village of Woodhouse Eves before returning via a different country route back to the park. Here we'll have tea and cake provided by the local Branch (this will be served under our giant gazebo in the park).
The route is around the country park then crosses a main road (that will be marshalled by staff - but is busy). We then go through farmland that has livestock on it - we will inform the farmers. Please note that paths can be muddy, so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
Please note that all balloons used on our balloon walk will be biodegradable, will not be filled with helium and will not be released after the event. All walkers have the option to walk with or without a balloon.
Entry fees for the Balloon Walk
We've now filled our places in the Beacon Hill Balloon Walk.
Your entry fee only covers the costs of running the event. It’s the money you raise that funds vital blood cancer research and patient support. We are located only two miles from the M1 motorway, just south of Loughborough, in Leicestershire, near the village of Woodhouse Eaves.
Parking at Beacon Hill
There are two car parks; the upper car park is off Beacon Road, and the lower car park where we'll meet is found off Breakback Road LE12 8TA. Parking charges apply: up to one hour is £2, one-three hours is £3, and it's £4 for over three hours.
