Current opportunities
Background
We'd like to produce a small range of blood cancer information in other languages. The languages will be Polish, Romanian, Punjabi, Urdu and Welsh. This reflects the languages most commonly used in the UK by people whose preferred language is not English.
We will focus on videos (spoken word) which will be much more accessible than written translations.
How you can help
We need healthcare professionals who speak these languages to help translate blood cancer information and feature in the videos.

Background
Our survey of people with blood cancer indicates that 58% of those with blood cancer are not aware of any support potentially available to them when diagnosed. We’d like to work with healthcare professionals to improve access to support services at diagnosis.
How you can help
We want to work with healthcare professionals to design, prototype, and test the new products. In addition to participating in interviews or focus groups.
Pilot hospital recruitment
This year we'd like to partner with a hospitals to shape the development of our offer, design something that works for today's clinical environment, and most importantly trial this in clinics and see real-time benefits to patients.

Our blood cancer information is written with expert medical professionals and people affected by blood cancer, to make sure it's medically accurate, clear and trustworthy.
This year we're recruiting healthcare professionals to review information about:
- infection and sepsis
- chronic myeloid leukaemia
- diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
- follicular lymphoma
- acute lymphoblastic leukaemia

Our online course is designed for new starters on a haematology ward, or healthcare professionals looking to improve their knowledge of basic haemato-oncological concepts to care for blood cancer patients.
Nurses created the course, which undergoes yearly reviews to ensure it remains clinically accurate.
How you can help
Offer your time to review the content for the entire course or specific modules:

- Types of blood cancer
- Diagnostic tests
- Chemotherapy
- Stem cell transplants
- CAR-T therapy
- Managing other treatment modalities
- Managing common complications and haematological emergencies
- Managing blood transfusions
- Clinical trials
- Holistic care and support services
Deadline
The review can be done at your own pace but needs to be completed by 29th April 2024.
